FEAR: COVID-19

from $475.00

This photograph was taken on March 20, 2020, the day after California Governor, Gavin Newsom, issued a statewide “stay at home” order in California. The following day (March 20th), Mayor Eric Garcetti issued a “safer at home” ordinance for Los Angeles County, which is where this shot was taken.

I was driving through downtown Los Angeles when I took this photograph. The man pictured was waiting at the bus stop with his mask on and a particularly relevant message written on the wall behind him which says, “I don’t know if we will make it”. This image sums up the emotions and reality we faced in the midst of a global pandemic and has historic significance in telling the tale of COVID-19.
